Question:

Could I possibly get into Stanford?

It's been my dream to go to Stanford. I'm going into high school, and I'm an honor student. For extracurriculars, I'm going to do Choir, Literary Magazine, Honor Society, and Girl Scouts. (This year, at least.) I'm organized. I take mostly advanced core classes. I'm going to have leadership experience from being a CIT for 2 years at a summer camp. Do I have a chance? Any advice to improve my chances of being accepted?

  1. Well, my sister got into stanford. If this takes 2 long srry. but this is wat my sis did. She went 2 MIT for 4 years, by taking 2 different kinds of classes. Then she graduated with perfect scores. Then maybe Stanford might give u a scholar ship 2 the college. this is excalty wat happened 2 my sis

  2. a broad anlysis is to say you would want above a 4.0 in high school...as in b's are not acceptable. for your first two years of high school you want to give yourself a good headstart and make straight a's. extracuriculars are very good also. If you can do all that an average sat score can get you in (1100, but if you make straight a's i would assume you could score higher)

but yea i would say if you want stanford you gotta really want it. If you can come to grips with the 40000 a year also i would say go for it too.

    good luck

  3. I don't know. If your GPA and SATs are in order, and even then it really is up to the people in charge of admissions at Stanford. With colleges like Yale, Harvard, and Stanford there is no such thing as a guaranteed admission.

  4. In my opinion: All colleges offer the same education..it depends what you are trying to major in.

If you want Stanford, you better get the best SAT scores you can possibly get...to qualify in such a college...you need to show your worthy. Also, it gonna cost you some serious intuition.

  5. Can you get in? Sure! What do you have to do? BE YOURSELF. It sounds corny, i know, but there are thousands of kids out there who will be applying to Stanford and other top schools. The majority of these students will be academically successful and practically indistinguishable in terms of scholastic talent. What top colleges look for is intellectual curiosity and commitment to knowledge. So be yourself; find something you're passionate about and pursue it. Continue to get good grades (straight a's are optimal, but not required), challenge yourself in everything you do, and go for your dreams. Don't stretch yourself trying to be "the perfect candidate", because colleges aren't looking for model candidates, they're looking for model individuals. Good Luck.
