I show livestock in the summer/fall, so could i still do bjj? I'd be there from the middle of november to late june.

I like to wrestle, and i don't easily give up. I'm a hard worker.

I've tried kung fu, but it wasn't for me.

I'm short and stocky, but fairly strong.

Thanx for your help in advance!

p.s. is there any way to prepare for your first class? what did you do?

  1. i imagine you could do it.  BJJ is a proven self defense system

  2. There really is no way to prepare for your first class but being in good physical shape helps.

I spent a lot of time "tapping out" the first few weeks.

Any training is better than no training, and the biggest thing is just to get started.  If you can't train for seasons, that's fine.  A lot of people who I used to train with were in the military so there were periods of time they couldn't train in BJJ (due to deployments/military training).

During summer and fall you can use that time to rest your body, maybe focus on conditioning and strength training.... then in the winter-spring you can focus on technique and actual jiu-jitsu training.

  3. yes bbj is a very intregaing and fun sport.although you must constlutly work to pull of new submission moves it pays of. it does feel good to pull of a triangle choke
