Could I take Online College Courses while in an online high school?

I'm currently a sophomore, enrolled in an online high school. I was wondering can I take online college courses somewhere and would it look good on my transcript/college application. Will it bump my GPA up if I get a good grade? I can't go to my local community college because there is any that will drive me because my sister is a bit lazy and doesn't have a flexible schedule. And their online courses are much of a selection for me.

If it's okay, I was thinking out taking 1-2 courses a semester. What could you recommend for me. Something that's free and I live in California (if that helps). Thanks! =)

  1. May be this site can help you

  2. If you're under 18 and don't have a high school diploma or GED you are not eligible to take college courses without first getting approval by your high school counselor/administration.  You need to check with them to get info on the procedures.

  3. Visit this site

Here you will find enough information that will help you solving your this question.

  4. As far as helping your GPA, I don't think so, because those courses aren't technically in the same curiculum (sp?). You can take those classes online though, because I took some online during my Junior year in high school and I think that it wouldn't matter that your a Sophomore, unless your grades aren't great, cause the teachers might think taking more classes could hurt you.
