Could I take the train from Stamford, CT to...?

And if so, about how much do you think it would cost? (I'd probably be going Amtrak)

  1. You're correct about Amtrak. They have a direct train from NY Penn Station to Toronto. Getting to NY Penn Station is the choice; Amtrak? Metro North?

    Call Amtrak for the fare.


  2. It can be done.  You'd first take Amtrak from Stamford into Penn Station in New York.  From there, you'd get on Amtrak's Maple Leaf which goes to Toronto.

    The fare would be about $142.

    As Ken points out, it is possible to take MetroNorth from Stamford into New York and save a few dollars on the first part of the trip, but MetroNorth gets you into Grand Central Terminal, from where you'd have to take a subway to Penn Station where you'd get on the Maple Leaf.  Best just to do Amtrak at all way...
