  1. It's possible, buy you may have to re-take some courses. I hope you realize that a college education in the US is expensive. On average, expect to pay about $35,000 a year for tuition, room and board. More for private schools, less for state schools. Also, you will need spending money.

  2. It might not be so easy to transfer to an American school in the middle of your BS or BA program. There are a lot of questions about how many credits would transfer, what courses you would have to repeat, etc. So I think transferring is not such a good idea.

However, you might look into the options for spending a year abroad in America with the permission of your Irish college as part of your Irish degree. It is routine for foreign students to attend American schools. The biggest problem is the high cost of tuition in the US, generally MUCH higher than in Ireland or the UK.

Or, you could consider attending a US school to get a MS or MA or MBA program after you finish your Irish degree.  European degrees are generally well respected in the USA and the Masters level programs are sometimes less expensive than undergrad. Especially if you get some kind of Fellowship or Teaching Assistantship that pays the tuition fees.

I don't know how many schools have Event Management as a major. In my neighborhood I think the only one is Johnson & Wales University.

    Good luck.

  3. Yes it is possible. However it depends upon the school that you wish to attend and of course the type of degree program you are doing now and what you have done in the past.

You would need to get your transcripts evaluated (the university of your choice will tell you which company to use for the evaluation) so that their U.S. equivalent can be determined.

You may find that you will need to start from scratch or that you have some additional classes to take to meet the general education requirements (if you are doing a bachelors). So where you are academically depends on the evaluation.

To answer your question, yes it is possible. You would need to visit the the website for more information on to apply for admission as a international transfer student.

If accepted you would then get an I-20 which enables you to pay the SEVIS fee and to then schedule an F1 visa interview at the U.S. Embassy.
