Could I transfer my number to another phone? (Both Verizon phones)?

I was thinking about buying a Verizon Wireless phone called the LG Dare. Currently, I have a U740 from Verizon Wirless and I was wondering whether I would be able to buy this LG Dare off of ebay and then put my number on that phone so I would be able to use my phone. Would I be able to get this done at a Verizon Wirless store for free?

YES, you can do this!!!!! Not sure about the fee for porting, should be free!!!!

Unless you get a cool verizon rep, its going to cost you at the store.  Just go online, (its free online) into your account and click on...I think its add a new phone, or something like that.  Then you just input the new phones numbers (behind the battery).  If you need help, call a rep to walk you through online or ask the guys at http://www.lg-dare.com  They always help me out with dare questions.

My son-in-law works for Verizon & they transfer numbers from phone to phone all the time. Even when they get someone to switch from another company to their company, you should be able to keep your same number.

Not sure how Verizon works but you might just be able to switch the SIM cards. If not, Verizon should be able to switch the number. Just make sure to verify that if Verizon works on CDMA, that you don't buy a GSM phone, because then it won't work.
