Could Ike be the next hurricane Katrina?

Look at Ike's forecasted track. Isn't that quite the same as Katrina's? I know Katrina moved over South Florida and then into the Gulf, but it looks like Ike will be doing something very much the same.

I think Ike could be very bad news for New Orleans. Are they ever going to get a chance to recover?

  1. Sure. Why not. The weather is a chaotic system. Prediction even with modern methodology is tricky at best.


  2. I feel bad for the people of New Orleans.  I hope they don't hesitate to evacuate after Gustav fizzled the way he did.  That could end up being a big catastrophe if Ike turns out to be bad.  We should all be keeping an eye on this one.
