Could Jesus have been...?

....telling people he was the son of God to gather a following of his own? Perhaps the OT God is the real God and Jesus just made claims of being 'sent from God" to benefit his own mission.

What if we have been wrongly following Jesus instead of the real God?

  1. I think this is a good question.  Please read how many OT prophecies would need to be fulfilled for Jesus to be the Son of God.  Jesus fulfilled these prophecies.  He is the Son of God.  Look it up and I think you will be surprised.

  2. I would just say you would then have to argue away the resurrection, if you believe it. An ordinary man, "claiming" to be the Son of God, but not really being that...couldn't raise himself from the dead.

  3. And what else did Jesus do? He laid down his life and took it up again. Only God can do that.

  4. Imagine what Jaysus would have done if his dad had invented televangelists during his time...woo hoo!

  5. Jesus gives only good advice, so it wouldn't matter.

  6. Jesus was a prophet of god, not the son as god isnt like a human being!

  7. what're you, a Jew?

  8. jesus made the blind man see no one can do that but god and jesus and jesus is god but jesus is the human  form

  9. No. Jesus never existed.

  10. A true christian knows Jesus is the only God.

  11. stay in school kid.. don't do drugs!

  12. Dont worry as you're wrong on both counts. There is no god, the bible is made and used by men to control people (if it was god made, dont you think the most powerful entity would be able to defend itself and its word from puny humans.

Give the child and i shall give you the man thats why religions push so hard for it in education to indocterinate you from when you are born so that even when doubt begins you can only ask this sort of question.

  13. Jesus is God, the same God in OT and NT

  14. Moses split the Sea of Reeds.  That means Moses was God.  So Jesus is Moses.

  15. You can find doubt any were you look if you want to, but you can also find hope and truth as well. You need to choose.

  16. People have been trying to discount Jesus for two thousand years. If Jesus wasn't the Son of God why would anyone still be talking about Him? If you read scripture you will find Jesus had a VERY small following. The  church did not start to grow UNTIL after He had risen from the grave, after the day of Pentecost. The thing is that non believers, are not able to understand the way of God,because you do not have the Spirit of God living in you to give you understanding. Why do you think Jesus said the only way to the Father is thru the Son.You have to be born again, not physically, but spiritually.Just so you know,Jesus would have explained it a great deal better, because He loved everyone, and judged NO ONE.That will come later. My advise to you...is seek and you shall find ,ask and you shall receive. His words not mine.

  17. Wow, isnt it great that our Loving Father in heaven promises that if we will ask Him is Jesus is His son He will send us an answer through the holy ghost?

Isnt it great He promises if we seek knowledge in ALL things He will answer our prayers by the holy ghost when the time is right?

That sure clears up a lot for me.

  18. Maybe we were created five minutes ago complete with memories of a past that never actually happened.

Just because something is possible doesn't mean it's reasonable to believe.  There were a couple dozen people in the first and second century who claimed to be the Jewish messiah, but the Jesus movement is the only one that survived the death of its leader.  That begs for an explanation, and the one explanation that makes sense is the one his earliest followers gave--he rose from the dead, and they saw him.  Maybe he really IS the Christ.

  19. Jesus gave the world a new world view. No eye for an eye tooth for a tooth, but turn the other cheek! I am of the opinion that you only have four cheeks. After that......kick ***!

  20. It was, in fact, Jesus that said he WASN'T the son of god, god or even his great nephew...Even he himself said that he was just a man, there to teach the word of god.  Like any Rabbi in his time

  21. is it possible YES!

thats exactly what the jews said, afterall there were "other" claims of messiah in that generation too some were sanctioned by leadership.

there are a couple jewish messiahs today.

I am a witnes of jesus, (not a messiah) lol)

OK to give a debateable answer to this question?

first we look at the animals that were sacrificed! Moses had All of Israel sacrfice Unblemished lambs as an ensample prophetically of what God is saying is to come.

it is well KNOWn that Isaiah preached that a virgin or a (maiden) will concieve a child and the angel Gabriel visited both Mary and joseph in confirmation that this has happened.

  22. Are you ignoring the part where God says "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." (Matt. 3:17)?
