Could Jie Zheng beat Serena Williams?

She has my surname, so I'm going to support her to beat Serena and to win the title.

What are your views?

It all depends on who plays their own type of game. However, I'd use the analogy of the shield and the sword. All the shield can do is prevent damage, whereas the sword actually does damage. Serena(sword) is the heavy favorite, but if Zheng(shield) can make aggressive shots to complement her defensive play, then yes, she has a very good chance of upsetting Serena.

They both got very good grass court game - powerful flat groundstrokes - but I think Serena has a better chance because of her powerful serve (at least with better 1st service % if both were going for it).....look at her number of aces!

It is very likely that she will face her sister Venus on Saturday and finally Venus will successfully defend her title as she has better agility than Serena in changing directions on both sides, as well as trace down drop shots, which is of ulmost importance on grass - ball stays low and fast!!

Yes i think Zheng Jie can win Serena. And i hope that she does it because she will do the chinese proud.  Serena is not playing at her best right now. And she gets too emotional at times.

I would call Serena on this one but I'm definitely not counting out  Zheng. She can turn the table and win. Why? She has nothing to lose. She has gone where no Chinese has ever gone before. That motivation can be very powerful.

That is possible but is it likely NO!!!!! Serena is playing very good in the tournament, it's going to be hard for anyone to beat her, but I do think it will be her and big sister Venus in the final and Venus will win.

As much as I would love to see an all Williams affair, I am praying the Jie Zheng can beat Serena because I want Venus to have a better chance at winning again.

Congrats to Zheng being the first Chinese woman to ever be in a semi final grand slam, and I do think that she's going to give Serena a run for her money, but I think Serena will pull out the victory since she is Serena! But still, Zheng beat Ana Ivanovich, and Nicole Vadisova, so don't underestimate her..

I have a feeling that it's either going to be a very close 2 sets, with serena winning, or Zheng winning the fist easily, then the next set being closer with serena winning, then serena will walk away with an easy/close third set!

I am really happy for Zheng as she has been around for a long time but the way Serena is playing i do not think she can.  Serena is ready to win Wimbledon and no one is going to stand in her way if she is healthy.
