  1. No...L2 cache is built-in on CPU (processor).  You can increase RAM by buying more to increase the amount of RAM available.

    Flash drive is to offload the VISTA start-up files on the flash chips rather than the hard drive.  Since flash drive is much faster then hard drive, 'cause of no moving part inside flash drive.  So VISTA will load up faster, but that's it.


  2. L2 cache is hardwired within the CPU and RAM is the memory on memory chips you install in the correct memory slots on the motherboard.  It doesn't matter what your operating system is, the only way to increase RAM is to install larger memory chips.  The only thing a flash drive will do is to give you more off line storage.
