Question:

Could McCain have selected anyone for VP to disturb more libs than Palin ?

I don't even think McCain nominating Bill O'Reilly or Rush Limbaugh would have encited more vitriol among libs than she has. Shekespeare said "We hate that which we often fear". For this kind of unbridled hatred to be flying around, there must be some real fear out there too. Your thoughts?

  1. all mr. O had to do was select the hill and the victory was theirs. Can anyone say self-destruct..fear is now definitely in the air.

  2. It's not fear.

After all that Hillary did to get so close to be the first female pres, McCain just picked some lady out of the blue JUST to get women voters.

It's insulting and it's incredibly insulting to Hillary.

  3. Why? do Right-wingers think they are going to get some of the "dumb woman voters"* to vote for McCain just because he picked a woman VP?

That is the purpose is it not?

  4. I thinkg both Obama and McCain are two of the best candidates we have seen in a very long time. But their VP choices SUCKED. Palin is going to push independents, like myself, onto Obama's side.

  5. I think you speak wisely.  i can't believe some of the crude and disgusting, sexually explicit verbage I have read from democrats regarding Governor Palin.  All the words are brimmed with fear.

    Good Call.

  6. No. Gov. Palin has a wonderful record, and is fresh. She was the perfect decision for VP. If McCain had chosen someone like Bill O'Reilly, or Rush...the Democrats/Liberals would be laughing, while I was crying. That would prove McCain was a whacked candidate.

But he didn't, he chose wisely. That is what makes the Democrats angry. So now they attack Palin's daughter for her choice to have premartital s*x, but she's keeping the baby, and getting married to the Father of their baby.

If the same happened to one of Obama's daughters, the baby would be aborted. Obama said babies are punishment to un-married, under-age girls.

Gov. Palin, her daughter, and her finace don't think so. I agree with them.

  7. After months of slamming Barack Obama for "inexperience," here's who John McCain has chosen to be one heartbeat away from the presidency: a right-wing religious conservative with no foreign policy experience, who until recently was mayor of a town of 9,000 people.

    Huh?

Who is Sarah Palin? Here's some basic background:

        * She was elected Alaska 's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.1

        * Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.2

        * She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. 3

        * Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.4

        * She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.5

        * She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.6

        * How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.7

We also asked Alaska MoveOn members what the rest of us should know about their governor. The response was striking. Here's a sample:

She is really just a mayor from a small town outside Anchorage who has been a governor for only 1.5 years, and has ZERO national and international experience. I shudder to think that she could be the person taking that 3AM call on the White House hotline, and the one who could potentially be charged with leading the US in the volatile international scene that exists today. —Rose M., Fairbanks, AK

She is VERY, VERY conservative, and far from perfect. She's a hunter and fisherwoman, but votes against the environment again and again. She ran on ethics reform, but is currently under investigation for several charges involving hiring and firing of state officials. She has NO experience beyond Alaska. —Christine B., Denali Park, AK

As an Alaskan and a feminist, I am beyond words at this announcement. Palin is not a feminist, and she is not the reformer she claims to be. —Karen L., Anchorage, AK

Alaskans, collectively, are just as stunned as the rest of the nation. She is doing well running our State, but is totally inexperienced on the national level, and very much unequipped to run the nation, if it came to that. She is as far right as one can get, which has already been communicated on the news. In our office of thirty employees (dems, republicans, and nonpartisans), not one person feels she is ready for the V.P. position.—Sherry C., Anchorage, AK

She's vehemently anti-choice and doesn't care about protecting our natural resources, even though she has worked as a fisherman. McCain chose her to pick up the Hillary voters, but Palin is no Hillary. —Marina L., Juneau, AK

I think she's far too inexperienced to be in this position. I'm all for a woman in the White House, but not one who hasn't done anything to deserve it. There are far many other women who have worked their way up and have much more experience that would have been better choices. This is a patronizing decision on John McCain's part- and insulting to females everywhere that he would assume he'll get our vote by putting "A Woman" in that position.—Jennifer M., Anchorage, AK

So Governor Palin is a staunch anti-choice religious conservative. She's a global warming denier who shares John McCain's commitment to Big Oil. And she's dramatically inexperienced.

In picking Sarah Palin, John McCain has made the religious right very happy. And he's made a very dangerous decision for our country.

In the next few days, many Americans will be wondering what McCain's vice-presidential choice means. Please pass this information along to your friends and family.

  8. He also wrote in Romeo and Juliet : on the way to the ball Romeo said to Horatio I had a dream.... Horatio said so did I,, and it is , that all dreamers lie.

I honestly think the Lib world for some reason was expecting Lieberman .

  9. You're so right, evidenced by the sleazy, liberal responses that continue with regularity.   I am so happy that I am not part of that motley group of bottom feeders who show such disdain for this courageous and ethical woman.

Woman especially have been looking for their own hero, and Sarah Palin really fits that bill.  Why then, have more women not come out in support of her?  Is it because she's not a liberal democrat?  Is that so important, when you see the despicable regurgitaion of word and thought coming from the left ?  Who would want to identify with this?

  10. It would make no difference who his choice is. You would see the same type of vitriol. There is no civil debate here, there is uncivil berate. The Palin son is an example. With no proof other than pictures that you don't know when they were taken the dailykos has determined that he is not her child but her daughters.

It bothers them little that the population of Delaware and Alaska are not that great a difference only Delaware is 1/100th the size. Nor that Hunter Biden is a lobbyist that does business with his fathers Senate office or this

  11. I don't see how they could be more in a panic.  Palin is a solid conservative who will rally others to vote for McCain that otherwise would not have.  Unbridled hatred is correct, and most never even heard of her just two days ago.

  12. Indeed! They are wetting their under-roos!

  13. There is a storm of hate that would dwarf Katrina.  But it is coming from the liberals, and they spend a lot of time hating.  See above, another liberal who thinks the VP "rules" over us.  They cannot in all honesty even call themselves democrats anymore.  Socialist or communist would be far more accurate.

  14. I expected attacks on anyone McCain picked however some of the attacks from the liberals about Palin shock me. I can't believe how far some would take this. The sexist comments and then to attack Gov. Palin, not to mention her teenage daughter are just disgusting to me. I would be just as disgusted to see filth like that about Obama's daughters.

  15. No it disturbs us because, Palin, is a mother of 5. She is governor of a state that has more moose than people, can she handle ruling over 300 million?

Yeah we do fear her, we do not want her to rule this country because lets face it McCain is old

  16. They are shaking in the lil booties. Aint it great. But, alas, McCain could have selected another who would have created fear in a lot more people, he could have selected Hillary.
