Could My Kittens Have Rabies?

I have two Kittens, both boy twins, about 8-9 weeks old, and they wont be getting their rabie shots for another 3 weeks.

They both love to play fight, but since about yesterday, they have gotten more violent, and sometimes the kittens squeal, like they're being hurt, while they are fighting. They also started pouncing at me a little. It's really worrying me, and i dont understand what is wrong..

If it's any consolation, they are starting to get infested with fleas.

I dont know what to do! please help!

  1. They are just playing. kittens always like to play if they are playing too much and ruining your furniture buy them a catnip toy my kitten loves that toy i bought for her.

  2. It sounds more like they're play fighting with one another. When they jump out at you they probably want you to play with them as well. They're not trying to hurt you. No I don't think they have rabies. If they're starting to get infested with fleas I would suggest contacting a vet and asking them a brand of flea products that you can put on them to stop the flea infestation.

There is nothing wrong if they want to play just let them when they cry they're teaching one another that they are  biting or scratching the other one too hard or hurting them. It's nothing to worry about as long as when one of them cries the other one stops playing so ruffly. Also as long as you're not seeing blood. When they jump at you try and play back with them. If they are getting to ruff stop playing.

Good luck with raising your kittens.

  3. Its a possinbility for any cat who does not have their rabies shot. However it sounds unlikely. Kittens between 7 and 14 weeks are learning to hunt and play. Just like a wild cat would. Especially if they have one another to learn with. And they are considering you family. So be grateful they are trying to initiate playtime with you. This means they are fairly attached to you. Secondly infestations on kittens that young of fleas can be fatal. The fleas suck the blood and they can become deathyly ill within hours. Simple solution go to a pet store and by some flea shampoo. Bathe them every 54 days with it until the fleas are all dead. s far as the rabies go. Make sure they are kept indoors and away from animals, prey or FLEAS which may be infected with the virus. Hope this helps.

  4. Kittens love to fight, it's in their nature. HOWEVER the fleas... need to be taken care of. A lot of their anger problems could be a result of the irritaiton caused by the fleas!

  5. no,they are playing....thjats what kittens do,play fight..

  6. hmmmm sounds like it by the symptoms your giving...is there any light sensitivity, muscle tremors or drooling? are they sensitive to air being blown in their face? i think just to be safe you should take them to vet.
