  1. I've been saying this for years.....Christchurch would be the PERFECT setting.....The only problem is that winter here in NZ is during the summertime in the Northern hemisphere, and that would make for some odd TV ratings to say the least.  Even Sydney had to have their Summer Olympics during our springtime, rather than actual summer.

  2. New Zealand has never hosted the summer olympics so i am not sure when they are going to host the winter games but next commonwealth games is in NewZealand.

  3. sure..why not

  4. only if it was cold enough

  5. of course, New Zealand has the land and money to host the olympics. Every country deserves a fair bid. The Kiwis are doing very well in winter sports

  6. Of course, they can bid to host the Winter Olympics as early as 2018 since the next two Winter Olympics will be held in Canada (2010), & Russia (2014).

Deadline for the submission of the bid would be on January 2009. The winning bid will then be announced in 2011 at the 123rd International Olympic Committee Session in Durban, South Africa.

  7. No

Kiwis have lost thier ''can do'' attitude,

local Iwi would protest, the Resource Management Act wouldn't allow enough construction for infastructure. And as the other guy said our timezone is way outta whack down the bottom of the world. And not enough  $$$$$$

    ....But I hope I'm wrong

  8. in 3 decades they might....
