I bet the chances are good.

Let's see:

1. He has already played for Doug Wilson

2. Has a house in San Jose

3. Owns a bar in San Jose

4. Really wants to win a Stanley Cup and San Jose has got good chances next season.

5. Played 8 seasons with the Sharks, which is the most years he played on any team.

6. Will be a UFA on July 1st

7. Sharks are looking for a veteran, tough, good-minded player.

You think?

  1. Nope...he will be in  a MN wild jersey

  2. It would be a good fit a win win situation.

    Dennis G

  3. i think there is a good chance out there. i would like to see him back on the team.

and... what bar does he own? im going there tonight!

    go sharks!

  4. Oh man that would be awesome. It would be like the times when I first started watching hockey minus Vinnie Damphousse and Ricci but I would love to see Nolan back.

  5. I doubt it!!  Considering they have JR I don't know if San Jose can handle another old player that is at the point of retirement.

He could goto a number of other places or maybe stay in Calgary??

Any contending team that picks him up would be taking a big risk. Except Detroit can have him along for the ride and not play much and not get much pay either? You know what I mean? Willing to take less for a chance to play on a cup team?

    Who knows!!!

  6. There is a 1 in 31 chance that he is..... He has 30 teams to choose from if they are interested in him, and the 31st choice is to retire!

  7. NO WAY! He loves Calgary. I think he wants to stay. Calgary is going to win the Cup this year, so moving back to SJ would be silly.

  8. 8. now that JR has played one more season like he said he decided, i think his time is up and he will retire without that Stanley Cup he wanted so badly.

so my answer? yes he will most likely be back in San Jose next year to quietly finish his Career.

    very good points and question.

  9. I didn't even know he was still playing. He must be kinda old by now.

Would be cool to see him with the Sharks though.

  10. Plausible, yes. But I highly doubt it.

I think he is contempt in Calgary and would like to stay there. Yes, he is a UFA, but he has implied he wants to stay in Calgary. I think his first choice would be Calgary, if he were to (re)sign with any team.

San Jose would probably love to bring back one of, if not the, most popular player of it's history, but if he does come back, you have to think of one question: Where would he fit in?

San Jose already have a tough veteran who is a good minded player who they just resigned; he goes by the name of: Jeremy Roenick.

(Although Roenick has stated he wants to play on a Canadian team before he retires, and the team he has implied(or so I have heard) is Calgary. So if he goes to Calgary..could Nolan go to San Jose? A swap thing, maybe? Hmmmm...I like the sound of that, though it probably won't happen next season)

If he did go back to San Jose, I believe he would not be able to secure a position any higher than the 3rd line. San Jose is a good, young team with veterans throughout the lineup, which already make up a good chunk of thier already solid lineup.

You make some good points, but I don't think Nolan will be back in San Jose next season. It's a good idea, and I'd personally love to see it happen, but if he did, it wouldnt be the same when he was at the prime of his career. He would just be approaching the end of it. That is just my personal opinion. But remember: Anything can happen.

  11. i don't think so because they already have jermey roenick

  12. Wilson and Nolan have a bad relationship

Keenan and Nolan have a bad relationship

The city of Toronto and Nolan have a bad relationship

    I sense a trend.

Me and Keenan have a bad relationship too..................least favourite coach I ever worked with............and that includes Orval Tessier!
