  1. I'm sure he could but it wouldn't get very far, thank goodness. My question is why would anyone want to do that? It's insane.

From a little research I found some years back, the countries that allow drug usuage have about 10% of the population using them. Assuming the same would hold true for the U S, that will put 30 million drug addicts into society at any given time. Just the thought of having as many as that number of stoned people behind the wheel is mind boggling. I would much rather pay a few billion to stop illegal drugs than have to pay for the never ending treatment of drug addicts.

  2. His followers think he can do anything,  I know that by being on yahoo.so it possible. I Just don't know anything about Mr. Paul, except I see him on the debates and I have no idea what his message is ,I use that time to pottie ,and get a snack ,I just know  he raises lots of money and people laugh at him at the debate, I am neither Democrat or Republican. i just listen to the men that see things the way I see them, Is that not what every one does, We all have our opinions  and you could have Mel Gibson, George Clooney, or who ever stumping for you, I am about my country not movie stars, I am of what I feel is best for our country, Mr.Paul may have a great message, I really don't know, Good luck hope you find the right answer.

  3. No because sadly he will not win. Instead we will get someone in there who will continue this black hole money pit called the war on drugs, and then tell us in order to pay for the things this nation needs we need to raise taxes.

  4. Well there is already a movement to do just that. It is just that that movement is shunted to the side by the drug warriors and their always helpful friends in the media.  Fact is that most people think that Cannabis is more or less harmless, and at a minimum should be decriminalized.  The rest of the drugs people have varying opinions about but the fact is that the War on Drugs has failed.  You simply can not legislate human morality, it is not possible.  Also you can not square denying the use of one set of intoxicants while taxing the use of others  that are as, or more harmful than the ones that are illegal.  It is an attempt to legislate values and it always fails in the end.

I personally have been a dope addict--crank and heroin--and was a hard core alcoholic and still think that people should be allowed to use or not as they think is best for themselves.  I say this even though I know what it did to me, but for me to attempt to deny anyone else the right to use their own bodies is totalitarian and just not right.

  5. Ron Paul can't even be recognized outside the internet except in the state from which he was elected to congress. No, he couldn't.

  6. I wish somebody would. The war on drugs is just window dressing for people who think that the government really cares if you take drugs or not. If drugs were legal and regulated like alcohol, all the money that gets passed under the table to the same law makers would dry up. It won't happen in my lifetime  It's a pipe dream.

  7. I wasn't aware that we had spent trillions of dollars on the war on drugs..........

Funny, only people that actually use drugs are the ones that want drugs to be legal.

  8. If Ron Paul gets elected President, he can try to get Congress to do this ... it will need joint action by President & Congress, or the states can go thru constitutional amendment process.

In some other nations, people who are addicted to drugs can register with the government, and instead of going to jail, they get inexpensive access to non-addictive drugs that address the craving, without making life worse.

Does this work?  You will have to do your own research.

  9. theres so many reasons to legalize drugs it would save us so much money .I'm surprised bush hasn't then we really wouldn't care how bad hes screwed up this country.but why non users should want them legal is we could tax the h**l out of them .we could probably pay off this deficit in a few years.and pay for some oil.and all the DEA could look for terrorists.yes he could and would if president but if not him there are many who know but are not as honest to admit that the war on drugs is a money pit ran by control freaks
