The technology or polymers used to create a stealth bomber (and the latest stealth boat) have been available since the 80`s when the technology was originaly developed. Imagine if you will Russia or China

developing such technologies, it is very possible. What do you think?

  1. I am sure they have worked on prototypes but there is a big difference in developing (stealing in the case of Russia an China) the technology and making it an operational capability.

China is just now developing the basics necessary to become a world power. Logistics capablity is more important for them that advanced capability.

The majority of Russia's budget goes to maintaining their nuclear arsenal and quite frankly their conventional forces are more than 25 years out of date as we see with the Georgia invasion. They don't even have basic drone capabilities as of yet.

You have to have the infrastructure and over all conventional capabilities before the advanced stuff comes into play.

  2. I fully agree with the poster above me. Basically, if a country has the technology to send spaceships to outer space (Russia and China had already done this), they also have the technological capability to come up with any aircraft that's simply within the earth's atmosphere.

The fact is that last year, Russia and India signed a joint agreement for the design and development of Fifth-Generation fighter-planes. The American F117 is fourth-generation.

  3. We hold no monopoly on intelligence. What one person can invent, someone else can develop also. Especially once they learn it is possible to do something, they would be remiss if they didn't copy it.

Frankly, I would be very surprised if they didn't have top secret ac and vessless in their arsenal.

That is why we are working so feverishly on the Aurora. The next step in stealth technology.  Oh, I forgot, the Aurora project doesn't exist.

  4. Considering the original computer programs used in the designing of the F117 Stealth fighter were Russian programs,  I think it quite likely they could have a stealth fighter.   The "stealth" of the F117 was in its shape,  not so much in the materials it was made of.   Triangular facets to reflect the radar beam away from the radar.   (Reference:  The Skunk Works,  written by Ben Rich,  Program Director,  Stealth Fighter Program.)

Also one of the F117s crashed in Serbia and I am sure the Russians got some of the MARS (Material, Absorbent, Radar)...from the plane.  Whatever contribution that had to the F117 is in their hands.

Lastly, a SUB is the original stealth boat.  Considering the Russians have some of the deepest diving subs in the world,  they could probably sneak one right up the shore of the USA and we would not know it.   (Previously we could track them easily as their propellers had a problem with cavitation which made their subs pretty noisy.  But Hitachi (Japan) illegally sold them a computer controlled milling machine and suddenly the Russian subs got real quiet and much harder to track.  Japan is such a wonderful ally.)

However,  I doubt China has anything.  They are still buying stuff from other nations and reverse engineering them..  Such as aircraft carriers.

  5. I haven’t seen any.
