Could Someone Explain My Credit Report - SOL question?

I have a debt on my credit report that shows

"date opened" in 2005, but I'm fairly certain it should be at least a year earlier than that when I owed the money.

So according to the report, the SOL date starts in 2005?

Credit report dates and "SOLs" are not the same thing.

The bureau reports only what the original creditor/collection agency reports to them..that includes the date they last received any information on your account.
