I Need Help With Choosing A Dirt Bike. I'm A Complete Beginner, Have About $1500 To Spend, Am 5'10" , 12 Years Old, And I Weigh 215. My Parents Say I Should Start With A 125cc Four Stroke But I'm Not Sure If It's Big Enough For Me.

  1. The last answer from Kato is 100% on the 230's are entry level bikes and have enough managable power to trail ride. As you become a better rider then look at the 250f, or 450F if its a couple of years down the road. Your weight is fine, people of all ages, weight, guys girls all can enjoy trail riding on just about anything. Have fun and enjoy yourself.

  2. 215, and ur 12 d**n,

a 150cc for the extra weight

  3. 4 stroke 250cc. You are already too big for a 125 and will outgrow even more very quickly. I dont think a 250 is more dangerous for you. The geometry of the bike and suspesion should be more suited for you in a 250 anyway. Even your weight i would look into getting the suspension set for your weight. You could probably handle a 450-500 weight and geometry wise, but too much power for a beginner.

  4. A Honda CRF230 or Yamaha TT-R230 would be perfect. A 125 4 stroke will be underpowered for your size. Both of the 230's have a very mild power delivery, they are excellent beginners bikes.

  5. 125 or 250 4 stroke don't get the mx version

  6. I would say 250f but if you are already that big you will out grow it soon. might as well just go with a 450f.
