Just seen a documentary & wondered! She is only 400m down I believe, in the Aegean Sea.

  1. As she was sunk by (I believe) multiple torpedo hits,I would imagine she is in a fairly fragile state. The cost involved would outweigh any possible benefit.

  2. Is it really the Britannic though. One theory is that ship was deliberately sunk in 1912 in the middle of the Atlantic by an iceberg.

  3. No it is an official war grave and must not be touched

  4. There was a program on TV which questions wether the ships had there names swapped due to a crash and insurance fraud. Cannot remember all the details though

  5. Whichever ship she really is, after all that time on the seabed I'd expect her to be very fragile indeed and not up to being lifted. Besides, I believe she's a war grave and should be left alone.

  6. dont see why not! it would make a magical documentary
