Question:

Could Urine be used as gasoline?

Well I was sitting in Chemistry class the other day and we were thinking of other alternatives for gasoline. We came up with the idea of using urine. We think it would be great because it will never run out as long as people are around, it's organic, and you don't have to buy it. I wonder if it could really somehow be turned into a source of fuel?

  4. Hahahah.

That would be a good idea.

  5. Urine is mostly water, so technically you could use the water to make fuel cells. I think this would be more easily done by collecting treated wastewater than collecting urine. You will still have a problem of needing energy to turn the water into oxygen and hydrogen.

If you want to use other compounds in the urine, such as urea, and burn them, again you will have to spend energy to separate them from the urine. This might be even less efficient than the first idea, because there is not a large amount of organic material in urine.

  6. So far they have not found a urine that can be formed into a motorized vehicle or any gasoline type object.  sry if i got ur hopes up 0=
