  1. It would be fraudulent for owners/moderators to actually sign in to a members account using the member's user ID and password as if they are the account owner to make changes to member's email addresses.

Example:  If I do that and the member still has problems with their email addys and sends a Yahoo Mail Help form to Yahoo staff.  If the member states that I (the moderator) changed their account for them, Yahoo could delete my account and close down my group for fraudently using a member's personal ID and password to access member's account.

  2. e-mail changes are the responsibility of the account holder- if owners had the ability to edit that there would be big problems and compromised Yahoo accounts.

all the member needs to do is click edit membership at top of group page above title- scroll down to e-mail address and click the full link: (Add new email address)  the next page loads, they enter new address "Enter the email address you would like to use to join bla_bla_group. After you click on the Continue button, you will be asked to complete email verification. Verification ensures that you are the owner of the email address." they click continue and password is requested- next page says: ".

    1) Check your email at the following address for a message from "Yahoo! Member Services":

    bla_bla@ whereever.com

      2. Click the link labeled "Important!" in this email to return to Yahoo!.

      3. Enter your password and your account will be activated!

You must follow the above steps now in order to use Yahoo! Groups. If you're having difficulty returning to Yahoo! with the link inside the email we just sent to you, click here to enter the verification code contained in that email.
