  1. ive done it before, its fine

  2. I learned in health class that your period actually stops once you are in a bath or pool. Not exactly sure how that all works, but I remember them telling us that. I would go to the party, wear a pad and once you get out of the water go and change it immediately. Your period would have stopped by the time you got out, and no one is going to know what your doing when you go to the bathroom.

  3. yeah go ahead and swim.  put like a pad or a liner in your suit and then when you get out change it right away.  it shouldn't be a problem.  and you should work on your parents to let you use tampons cause they make life so much easier.  and your period doesn't stop when you swim.  i learned that from experience.

  4. It is a wives tale that your period "stops" magically...If you were to wear a panty liner or a pad...it will swell up with water and this might look and feel embarrassing! Don't believe me...just pay attention when you take a bath...You might see a little red...and as far as the panty liners and pads...drop each in the tub and see how much they swell!

Here's some correct information and the links below...Good Luck!

Menstrual flow does not stop in water; it does not show up as much because the blood is diluted in the water and often when in water you are laying down so gravity not acting upon the flow, you do however still bleed there is nothing about water that prevents menstrual flow.

Can I go swimming when I have my period?

Yes, but a pad won't work underwater, so you need to wear a tampon. Tampons absorb the menstrual flow from the inside, so being in water won't affect them. If you've never worn a tampon before, be sure to get the slim-fit type and leave some extra time to get it properly in place.

I want to go swimming but I'm on my period, what should I do?

You can definitely swim when you are menstruating as long as you wear a tampon and not a sanitary pad. Tampons collect your menstrual fluid before it leaves your body. If a tampon is worn during swimming you will need to change it before and after you swim.

    Q. Can I swim when I have my period?

    A. Sure, use a tampon. If you don't know how to use one there are very good instructions on the info sheet inside all boxes.

Please read on your own and make an informed decision and don't rely on others (inaccurate) advice

  5. popular belief is your period continues while you swim. it doesn't. it really stops. the only problem is it starts up right away after you get out of the water. so, you can go if you stay in the pool or get out and run to the bathroom to put a pad on.
