Can 1 comet goldfish live his whole life in a 29 gallon long fish tank?

  1. yes. comets also can live in the one quart carnival goldfish bowls.


  2. Even if it was by itself, 29 gallons is too small for a comet. They easily can be a foot and a half long. You'll need at least 50+ Gallons.

    you could get 1 or 2 fancy goldfish in that tank

  6. Probably not. Goldfish need 2 gallons per inch of fish body (not including fins). A 29 gallon would be fine for a comet as long as it was around 6" or less. Comets frequently get much larger than that as adults.

    A 29 gallon tank would comfortably support a Comet about 6" or less. If he is getting bigger than that, you should think about getting a bigger tank.
