  1. Anywhere in the U.S. there is a potential for a tornado to spawn. You see tornadoes in big cities less because big cities don't cover very much ground compared to less rural parts of the U.S. If a tornado did strike Chicago, it's damage would depend on how strong it is on the fajita scale. A relatively weak tornado (F0- F2) would cause minimal damage, tossing debris not rooted to the ground, such as trash cans. There could possibly be numerous broken windows. A relatively strong tornado (F3- F5) would cause severe damage to the suburbs mostly. Humans aren't sure what would actually happen if a tornado hit a large skyscraper such as the Sears Tower. Most likely, a lot of windows would be broken but no damage to the inner core of the building.

  2. Anything with this crazy weather is possible....

  3. Yes, a tornado could strike Chicago. Depending on the tornado's features, it could do small damage or massive damage. A tornado with max winds of 300 mph with a diameter of 1 mile that lasts for one hour would do indescribable damage.

  4. The damage depends on the strength of the tornado. But let’s just say an F5 hit downtown Chicago, it will be quite catastrophic because two main things: #1 the people and #2 the location of Chicago’s buildings. Some people already believe Chicago is unable to get tornadoes, since one has not happened in a long time. Chicagoans will be unprepared if a tornado was to strike at any time. People in Chicago may not even take alerts seriously.  With buildings being so close to one another, the tornado would squeeze itself through with debris making the wind speeds faster creating even more damage. Can you imagine downtown's buildings, along with the Sears Tower's windows blown out, and all that is left standing is their steel framework
