Could a tutor help me with a single homework assignment?

It's doubtful.  A tutor helps you with the course as a whole.  If you need help with one assignment, why don't you just post your question?

Some tutors will, some won't.  If that were a subject in which I had any competency, I'd have no problem with it, but I've worked with some who wouldn't unless you were part of their regular clientele.  Look, try this:  I started tutoring at a tutoring center at a local junior college.  It was on a walk-in basis.  You came in, signed up, and got help from whoever was next on the list.  Check high schools, junior colleges and colleges in your area.  There may well be a place like that there.

I'm sure you know who gets good grades in your class. Just ask one of them to assist you with the material. They should help if they are nice people.Or after class tell ur teacher that you didn't understand all the material and he/she can cover the stuff that you missed. Good luck!
