The real answer?

Aliens are the result of Mass hysteria and sleep paralysis. UFOs are airplanes, venus, hoaxes. There are no aliens floating around abducting people. This is just a very elaborate hoax turned into a mass hysteria which is maintained by a small group of people who make a living selling books and counseling alien abductees.

I can not tell you what every ghost is, but I can tell you for a fact, without question, Ghosts are not dead people, nor were they ever humans. Stop thinking along the lines of old wives tales about ghosts and update your school of thought.

If a ghost is a person who could make noise and move things and appear in photographs, this would mean the human spirit has mass. That means light can reflect off them, and they touch things. If the human spirit had mass, then surely science would be able to detect them and know all about them, and thier anatomy, etc. There would be ghost bodies on display at the natural history museum. Surely we would have a way to communicate with them by now.

Ghosts are humans that have died.  Aliens could have had the technology to pull the human world and the spirit world closer together or created a reason for spirits to stay such as a spiritual wall.

'COULD' is the operative word here. Yes, they *could* have something 'to do with' aliens, but what is the likelihood?  Aliens would first have to *be* here, to have anything to do with *our* ghost phenomena, or at least a lot nearer than they must be normally i.e. we have a pretty good knowledge of the nearby cosmos and there is nothing to suggest alien life anywhere in it.  The science (as we know it) dictates that aliens, assuming they do exist, will be vast distances away from earth, so they would have to travel across these vast distances (and we're talking trillions of miles here) before they could have anything to do with ghosts.  Now according to the Copernicus principle, there is no reason to imagine that things are any different where the aliens are, to as it is here, so why wouldn't they simply stay where they are and do things with their 'own' ghosts if they have a mind to (if such things exist)?  Can you imagine them travelling zillions of miles to play a hoax on us?

So, IF both aliens and ghosts exist, the chances seem to be that they have NOTHING to do with ghosts (here on earth, at least!).

I don't think aliens have anything to do with ghosts.  However, there are some old sci-fi movies that show aliens reanimating dead bodies (not spirits).  Scientology says that alien spirits or something haunt us, but that is not what most people mean by ghosts.
