  1. Taking iron tablets at the same time as your thyroid medication can great reduce its effectiveness and this might then skew your blood work results as your meds may not have been working properly.


  2. Usually before they do blood work , they will ask what medications you are taking. I've seen that birth control pills could make a difference because of the hormones, but i'm not 100% sure of that. Your best bet would be to tell the doctor what meds you are on, and find out if you need to stop them to do the testing. Good Luck :-)

  3. I'm not to sure but the fact that my doctor always has me fast from midnight the night before I have my blood work done and not take my morning meds kind of indicates that other meds can influence the results.
