  1. yeah they could survive THEIR whole life. but their whole life would be short.

haven't you ever heard of SCURVY like the disease that all the pirates got? Arrr matey!

  2. Not healthfully, no. The inuit people have a diet of primarily meat and fish, but in the summer months they have some access to lichens, moss, or roots depending on where they are living. They also have a very high incidence of heart problems, especially since their lifestyles are becoming more sedentary and not the "go out and hunt yourself" lives they previously had.

Theoretically everyone survives their whole lives, because however long you live is your whole life. So it you can survive 20 years on no veggies, then technically you lived your whole life. (But I know what you mean).

  3. They would have to take a multivitamin or they'd be dead soon enough unless they eat lots of fortified foods.

  4. Yes but it would be a short life to live.

  5. Probably, but only if they periodically took a multivitamin.

I suspect their life would be shorter and less vibrant than otherwise could be.

  6. I believe that some people of the very northern climates have done so historically (although now it is not happening).   Namely, the Inuit people.   They had a diet of fish and meat.

  7. Quite possibly, but it would be a VERY unhealthy way to live and they would do great harm to their bodies. Anyone who did that would be deficient in numerous nutrients and vitamins. A well balanced diet is imperative for a healthy life.

  8. That is impossible.

Even the Eskimo/Inuit eat plants. In the summer they eat blueberries and cranberries. In winter, they eat herbage taken from the stomachs of animals they kill (reindeer).

  9. The Inuit (Eskimos) did this until not so long ago. When this was reported by the American anthropologist Vilhjalmur Stefansson around 1910, a lot of people wouldn't believe him. They thought that without some vegetables, at least, one would suffer from some deficiency disease or other.

So Stefansson did a demonstration. He was spending a year on a lecture tour, and he agreed that during that time, wile he was on full public view, he would eat no plant matter at all.

It wasn't too easy to do that, but he managed. And he was just fine.

The secret, of course, is that you have to eat the entire animal, and not just the cuts that are familiar to us.

I don't particularly recommend it, as variety is the spice of life!

  10. Yes, the Eskimo/Inuit do.

  11. Yes, but you would have to eat the meat raw and eat the organs raw to get the range of nutrition you need.

  12. theyd haave quite a lot of vitamin defficiencies

  13. probably not everyone needs to have a balenced diet+

  14. Yeah, I think they could. HOWEVER they'd be very unhealthy and most likely overweight. They wouldnt live as long as someone who ate fruits and veggies.

  15. Yes, you could survive your whole life, but your life wouldn't be very long! You need fruits and many vegetables to be healthy and survive.

  16. Yes, they could.

Just give me a monster sized greasy hamburger and I'm in heaven.

  17. Sure, but I would expect heart disease and premature death.

  18. Obviously yes. Anyone who never ate a fruit or vegetable didn't do so their entire life.

    The question is poorly worded.
