Could anyone give me advice for living in Rome, Italy? (Please read the details)?

I would really like to know how I can find a job teaching english. Also, I would like to know where in Rome I can find a place to live for not too extremely expensive. I already know how much money I would have to save, especially with the way the dollar is.

In Rome there are many english schools (British Council, British School, Shenker Institute...) to which you can send your CV. For native speakers it is quite easy to find someone to give private lessons.

To live, Rome is relatively cheap. If you want to live in the historical centre the rent is expensive, but in other quarters (like Magliana for instance, or San Lorenzo, San Giovanni...) you can pay for a single room 300 to 500 euros a month, for a little flat 800 to 1000 euros.

Are you looking for a room or an apartment? If you don't have problems in sharing a flat with other students you can find a single room with shared bathroom and kitchen for approx. 300 euro per month; but consider that a flat would cost at least 1000 euro per month; and teachers barely earn that! if you plan to come alone I suggest you to consider the idea of finding a second job in the evening as well (in a pub, maybe?) in order to reach the monthly amount of around 1500 euro; sufficient for having a roof over your head; eating and maybe going to the cinema sometimes (if you smoke forget the cinema!!);if instead you are coming with a partner which is also willing to work you will have less economic problems... Live in Ciampiano Italy.  It's 10-15 min. from Rome by train. Much safer and more beautiful.  It's a nice town, and the rent is probably cheaper.

search on google for "british council" or school of english in rome and this stuff.

not in center you can find some appropriate accomodation, search on the internet "accomodation rome" "house in rome" rent ecc just for beginning to have an idea about what expecting

in terms of jobs and life.

for one month without working i d tell you to save 4000€. they are enough for travel tickets, 2months accomodation, and life, without much extra. today dollar is 1,55.

u could teach privately....u would earn much more (u won't have to pay taxes on ur job etc) and could plan&organise ur days way better....u should post a paper out of schools & gyms (dunno y but it does work,put it there as well) saying u would help kids (or teens or whatever....that's up to u),u'r mother-language etc etc....and then acut the end of the paper in  many lil strips with ur mobile so that they can cut it from tha paper and phone u....

for what's about where to live....mmmh....i cannot help too much coz i'm still at my parents....but u should search for a neighborood near the METRO (subway) so u'r well connected and live in a way less expensive place....u can also find very cheap apartmants to rent r nearby the universities (mostly La Sapienza which is quite close to the downtown...forget about tor vergata,not safe or nice at all)

all headquarters of Rome are expensive but perifery is  much cheaper obviously:D
