In Caracas you can stay in cheap unsafe hotels or in good and safe not so cheap hotels. I recommend you stay at a good hotel because Caracas is not the safest place in the world right now. Here are some: the hotel Tamanaco in the Mercedes, the hotel radisson eurobuilding in Chuao, the Embasy Suites in Chacao, the Melía in el Recreo, and there's also the Hilton. And the four seasons in Altamira.
