Question:

Could anyone recommend a London restaurant with unusual decor, good food and not too pricy?

Myself and my boyfriend love to eat out in quirky restaurants, however it's hard to find such places that also serve decent food which is value for money simply by trawling Time Out, etc. A lot of cool places also just don't get featured on those sites! Any recommendations would be most gratefully appreciated; the stranger the better! :)

  1. nandos is really nice , as well as tgi fridays,  too many to think of....

  2. Not sure what you mean by strange but try this... Navarro's is a tapas bar/Spanish restaurant in Charlotte St. W1. The downstairs room is really colourful in a kind of hand-painted, Spanish flamenco way. The food's really great, and good value, especially for the area, but it's harder and harder these days to get in without booking.

The Ace Cafe, on the North Circular road, near Wembley, is a beautiful converted Art-Deco tyre showroom, and the UK's best biker cafe. Even if bikes aren't your thing, it's fantastic to go and see all the bikey types showing off their bikes in the car park. They play fifties rock and roll, have special theme nights, and it's fully licenced. Food is high-quality English Caff - all day breakfasts, home made pies etc.  Have a look at their website.

  3. ignore nandos and tgis that real whack, i hope that person was joking.  Have you tried archipalego near warren street, the food is amazing and your not gonna find a more unusual restaurant in london.  Otherwise Sarastro on Drury Lane, Les Trois Garcons or Annex 3, both super trendy funky restaurants.  I think those shall do you for a while
