My friend and I are thinking about taking a cruise to the Bahamas next summer. I would just like to hear about which cruise line are the best for the price we would have to pay. Also, if you could help me get to know what types of things there are to do and what is worth spending the money to do that would be great.

  1. i've cruised many times but my favorites were

Freedom of the Seas- Royal Caribbean's line

    and Disney- Magic.

They were both EXTREMELY fun. and if you want a deal just buy a category like 12 inside stateroom. you spend so little time in your room and its just like all the other higher priced rooms just no window :]] so if you pay for an inside room on one of those cruise lines [both are top of hte line best in teh world and not to mention freedom is the LARGEST cruise ship in the world] then you won't have to pay as much as you'd expect.

Freedom has- a surfing/boogie boarding simulator, ice skating, plenty restaraunts and bars, diff clubs, mini golf, rock climbing, AMAZING gym and spa, a couple pools and a water park, etc etc. And the shows/comedians are great!. The food's pretty good too.

Disney has- a water slide, great shows, Decorated amazing, great service, its just too fun, a movie theater, clubs, rotating restaraunt schedule so you can experience diff types of foods, and a lot of other stuff but im getting too excited to name :]]

both cruises go anywhere you wanna go.

  2. I would say you should try The Norwegian Cruise Lines.

This Summer, In August, I'm going to the Bahamas in the NCL, It was a fair price and I've went to NCL before and it was awesome.

  3. I would say that NCL is the way to go. Just returned 2 weeks ago, from my cruise. I'm ready to leave again right now. NCL offers the frestyle cruise's which is nice you don't have to dress up if you don't want to, but you can NOT wear shorts in the two main dinning rooms after 5 pm. There was enough to do everyday aboard ship, when we were at sea. With NCL you pay 10 dollars a day for tips per person. Watch what you buy onbaord, because it is charges to cabin a nd it does add up. I chatted with a guy the last night of my cruise, his bar bill alone on an 9 day cruise was $1200....then he bought 3 case of booze...now that is crazy. he has fun though. I spent about $400, my daily tip and excusions, and my drinks. If you are a soda drinker NCL offers you the soda program, you pay $50 and you have unlimted soda the whole time on the cruise and a cool mug.

  4. i would reccomend going on Royal Caribbean. They are amazing. i am going on my fourth cruise on July 6th and it will be my 3rd cruise with them. I have never had a bad experience with them. They have the biggest most innovative ships, with the most ammenities and best service. They are awesome. i would definately recommend Royal Caribbean.

  5. When you pick a cruise you need to consider where its going AND what's on board the ship to do. Cruises going to the Caribbean and Bahamas offer at their port stops a wealth of beach type activities like swimming, snorkel, scuba, jet ski, para-sailing, and swimming with the dolphins or stingrays.

Caribbean cruises offer more of these activities than do cruises to the Bahamas, mainly because the cruises are longer, and stop at more islands and places where these activities can be had/purchased. My personal preference, based on the many cruises I have done all over the Caribbean, is a Western Caribbean itinerary.

You will have many options for good cruise lines going to the Caribbean including, Princess, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Carnival and Celebrity (plus a few others). Princess is a great cruise line with very lovely and well decorated and appointed ships.

Some people will tell you to go on Carnival and it is a cruise line that some people love and others hate. Its a budget line that has some good ships.

Norwegian is a good line if you want things very informal. Celebrity is a great upscale line, close in amenities to Princess.

But Royal Caribbean has more on-board activities than any of the other cruise lines. Royal Caribbean has a really nice web site where you can pull up an interactive model of it's ships and look at photos and/or a 360 degrees view of the ship and its features. Just go to the Royal Caribbean web site and click on "SHIPS" and then select a ship to look at.

I have been on about 20 cruises on four different cruise lines and the cruise that I recommend for you is on one of Royal Caribbean's Freedom class ships, the Freedom of the Seas and/or the Liberty of the Seas (these are identical ships that both do Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings. I have been on the Freedom of the Seas and its a great ship. It has areas specifically for family members of all ages. From the adults only Solarium that has a pool and two hot tubs, to the H2O Zone that is a water park for kids to the Adventure Ocean and Fuel areas that are for kids of all ages. It has the rock climbing wall, a mini-golf course, a full sized basketball/tennis court, an ice skating rink, a fabulous free ice capades type show, THE best gymnasium I have seen on ANY ship, and the flowrider which is a place where kids and adults can body surf right on ship.

The Liberty, like the Freedom, does cruises in the Eastern and Western Caribbean and both ships use the Royal Caribbean private island port stop, Labadee. Both the Freedom and Liberty have cruises departing from Miami.

Finally, Labadee is a private island like the ones that many cruise lines have. But Labadee is THE best private island that I have EVER been on. It has multiple beaches and all types of activities you can pay to participate in like Jet ski, para-sailing, a zip line, an ocean water park and its so huge that you will never feel crowded.
