  1. It's not really that global warming isn't true as such, but whether humans are the main driver and whether our burning will cause catastrophic warming in the future.

    1) Man's emissions only really took off after the war, but there was a period from about 1915-1945 of significant warming of the same, or nearly the same , rate as from 1976-98 (There's been no significant warming after 1998 from the satellite or Hadcru surface measurements). Natural causes have to explain most of this. We know that solar activity has increased dramatically over the last 100 years, and although there has been little change since 1985, the early-20th century warming can be mostly attributed to the sun. Galactic cosmic rays essentially act as a positive feedback for the sun and increases its effects. Other things such as Oceans cycles (ENSO, PDO, AMO) have all had net positive influences over the 20th century, and scientists reckon the arctic decadal  oscillation has caused 0.2 of the 0.5C warming seen in the northern hemisphere since 1976. This cycle in particular was stable to 1970, positive till 1980, negative till 1990 and positive till 2000 when it became stable again.

    2) The lower troposphere shows less warming than the surface data, yet models predict 1.2 times MORE warming. GISS and HADCru show 0.165 and 0.163 C/decade respectively so we would expect about 0.197C/decade, but UAH shows 0.136 and RSS 0.17, giving an average of 0.153: much less than we would get if CO2 were the main driver.

    3) The predictions made by the IPCC use climate sensitivities of between 2.5 and 4.5 C for a doubling of pre-industrial levels of CO2 to 560ppm. It is generally accepted that CO2 has a sensitivity of 0.8-1.2C, but the IPCC incorporates large amounts of positive feedback in their predictions. However there is little evidence that such positive feedback exists or not. However, in a relatively stable system such as climate, it is highly improbable that it is dominated by positive feedback and here's why: climate warms/cools slightly from natural causes, warming triggers positive feedback, more warming, more positive feedback etc etc.

    4) There simply hasn't been enough warming for the predictions to be accurate: given how much warming we have already seen, we would expect about 1C over the next century - that is, nuisance warming, but not disastrous. The way the IPCC justifies such large predictions is by saying some warming is currently being masked by aerosols. However, aerosols only cover a small geographical area and in order to mask such warming, they would have needed to have caused a cooling of 10-20C in those areas, which is absurd. Also the northern hemisphere is warming much faster than the southern hemisphere, but most aerosols are in the northern hemisphere. For the predictions to be accurate, some unknown cause must be COOLING the earth by 1-2C, but if we assume that is possible, why couldn't something be warming the earth by 0.7C?

    5) It is not clear whether or not warming will be harmful. Certainly, crop yields should improve in warmer conditions and ones with more CO2. There is no reason to expect more floods or droughts, and there is nothing "perfect" about present conditions (or those 50-100 yrs ago), as temperatures have fluctuated greatly in the past both higher and lower than today. The Holocene Climate Optimum, for example is thought to have been warmer than today and the Medieval Warm Period was warmer in many parts of the globe. The last interglacial was 5C warmer than today, yet we know polar bears existed then. Hurricane frequency and intensity has not increased, we just record them better than we did even 25 years ago.

  3. 1) Ice caps are melting

    2) Wildfires have gotten worse in recent years

    3) Rising ocean temperature

    4) AL Gore is responsible for half of it

    5) Rising sea levels

oh wait...thats not what you were looking for...oh well.

  4. geting more heat in summer

    lack of oxygen

    more humidity

    less rainfall

geting ertated and felling sick more often

  7. the global warming is fact, there is some issue though that maybe (just maybe) would be mistaken

    1. The Mayan calender calculation saying the world will have be doom in 2012, we got 4 years to prove it

    2. Also predicted in 2012 that whole ice in the arctic will melt, after that we just see. (the north atlantic current prediction and ice age like in day after tomorrow)

    3. the world hunger, the only thing that makes hunger is no fair distribution of food.

    4. i don't know

  8. but it is true... you should argue for the opposite side.

it's scientifically proven and i believe it!

  9. Ok your question is not worded too well but..

Global warming is a fact - the earth is getting warmer. Although it has not been completely proven true though scientific research that the main cause of this is due to increased human activity eg: Green house gases.

Most of the research conducted concludes what is already known: the the earth is getting warming

The arguments for the idea that global warming is NOT occuring are that the warming of the earth is just due to natural fluctuations.

This has been in fact proven , as it is well documented that earth has not remained at a constant temperature over its billions of years of existience. For example, only 10000 years ago there was an ice age that cover much of the world in ice, since then, the ice has been slowly melting.

However it has also been suggested that green house gases have created a "blanket", that prevents heat escaping through the atmosphere.

No-one can prove for sure how much of a contribution green house gases have had to an increase in the earth's global temperatures, although chances are it Green hosues gases are contributing to the warming.

Also no-one can accurately predict the all the possible effects of Global warming.

However it has been predicted that ocean levels will rise - by a metre over the next few hundred years, or 20 metres.
