  1. I can tell you it is wonderful! The object is to keep the landfill from filling up.  If you have something you no longer need or want and it is too good to throw away, you post it as OFFER and tell what it is. (A lamp, books, kids clothes, etc.) Everyone that is a member of Freecycle will get your post. People email you back to your email address, not everyone on Freecycle, and tell you why they want it. You decide who you want to give it to and email them telling them where you are and make pickup arrangements.  On the other hand, if you see something you need, say a twin bed, you email that person and tell them why you want it, etc.  It's fun - you unload your 'junk', get somebody else's 'junk' and meet  new people, too.  The best things I got were a refrigerator and a shed.  I gave a Maple entertainment center, a couch and kids toys.  It can be anything - big or small. Absolutely no money can change hands.  If you want more info, email me and I'll tell you how to get on Freecycle if you don't already know.  Do it and have a ball!

  2. Freecycle is a wonderful group.  If you have it and don't want it you can list it on your local freecycle board and offer it to someone who might need it.  Likewise if you need it you can ask for it on freecycle as well.  Why throw away to the landfills what someone else might be able to use.  You never know, as the old saying goes "one mans trash is another mans treasure".  I have been a member for a couple of years and when I get a goody on freecycle it's like Christmas for me.  I also get a good feeling when I give a needed item to someone.
