  1. well unfortunately its people like my partner and i who work full time and miss out on being 'stay at home parents' that have to foot your bill.

i suppose you'll be expecting free housing too.

    enjoy our money.

ps i exspect il get 50 thumbs down, but if we don't speak up about people who think their 'entitled' to a free life then our taxing will keep rising.

  2. It really depends on what your partner is earning.  If you are a single parent you will 50 pounds p/w Income Support, 60 pounds p/w Child Tax Credit & 18 pounds p/w Child Benefit (all children get CB anyway).  The best thing to do is to call your local Job Centre Plus Office & ask them.

  3. What  could be a better benefit than being able to spend your time with your children?

  4. you would get some sort of child benefit,it isnt much mind!

  5. the only benefits i get are the ones that my hubby pays for through his work.

  6. While I agree mummy's should be at home with their children questions like this really annoy me.

I stay at home and look after my children and my hubby works, we have to pay the mortgage, rates, oil, electricity, groceries, car tax & insurance, life insurance, school dinners, dentist, prescriptions, eye care etc etc etc AND those on benefits can sit at home on their lazy @rse's all day and get everything paid for with my hubby's and every other working mans taxes, it really angers me as we get bugger all but that is our choice to work and pay for everything OURSELVES and not live on handouts.

Why can you not work part-time and contribute taxes etc and still get to spend alot of quality time with your child instead of letting your son grow up thinking its ok for mummy to live on benefits, its just a vicious circle and he will do the same

  7. it depends on your circumstances. If you have a partner who is working more than 24 hours per week you are only likely to get child benefit and child tax credits

  8. I don't know where you are but stay at home Mothers do not get benefits for making the choice to stay home.

  9. Well if you are a single mum you would get:

    Income support

    Child tax credit

    Child benefit

    Housing benefit

    Council tax benefit

    Free prescriptions, dental care etc

If you have a partner who works you may be entitled to:

    Child tax credit

    working tax credit

    child banefit

  10. you would get maternity leave for the 1st 9 months

    child benifit

    child tax credits

    income support(if you qualify)

depending on what your partner(if u have 1) works you may be able to claim working tax credits aswell

    good luck
