Question:

Could being hit by a taser really make a person sterile?

"Would you rather be shot or tasered" a friend of mine asked, and when I replied I would rather be hit by a taser/stun gun he replied I was pretty stupid; that a taser has 'harmful' long-term effects such as making a person sterile.

Now I have a pretty good idea how tasers work, having done some research on them I assured him there is no such thing, there are merely short term effects that effect only the muscles, which even then, is only for a few minutes. He wouldn't believe me.

Can anyone shed some light on the subject? I've never heard of anyone having such a result when being tasered before.
