My son is 6mos old and i've just started giving him abit of Cow and Gate baby yogurt after every meal, but ever since i started giving it him which was on Monday he keeps being sick, esp today.

Hes had a runny nose and is really hot in which i believe he's teething but I'm not sure weather its a bug that could be making him sick because of the runny nose and hotness, or weather it could be the yogurt?

What do you think?

Thanks in advance!

  1. you introduced dairy too soon, i think you should have waited till he was a year old. just like with peanuts they say now to wait till they are 3 yrs old to introduce it to them. now days baby's are becoming allergic to certain foods to soon. i tried giving my son peanut butter when he was 1 1/2 yrs. and he had a runny nose, congested, some rash. and just from that one time he is so allergic to peanuts if it happens again he could go into anaphylactic shock. so he has to carry an epipen in his backpack. he was allergic to dairy to until he was 14 months old.

  2. take him off the yogurt, see if he get better.  if he does, try it one more time, if he gets sick, he's probably intolerant.

Try the lactose free stuff.  My youngest was, he grew out of it.  Now I can't keep milk in the house.  They keep drinking it all.

  3. Hello.  My son is six months old and has the SAME symptoms as yours.  FYI - my sister calls him Bubbie :)  I would definitely chalk it up to teething, but wouldn't give him any milk based products because of all the mucous he has right now.  Milk will only make it worse. If he was lactose intolerant, you should have seen some signs prior to this.  I wish you luck.  I've been having quite a few nights of interrupted sleep.  They're worth every bit!
