Could currency and the stock market get outmoded? Will there be a better way to trade in the future?

  1. Only if an entirely new system were to come out. Trading is simply exchanging goods. Before currency, we would directly trade one good for another. Currency came about as a way to assign a more precise value to goods and services. Because it makes trading easier, more versatile, and more efficient, we regard it as superior. I am not aware of any other system that can improve on this.

    Though it may be possible that in order to help establish and stabilize the global market place, the world may one day adopt a currency of a standard value unrelated to the prosperity of any one nation. That day is a long way off if it will ever come, though.


  2. I can not see the stock market going away. We will likely always want to invest in A business, and that is what stocks are. As for currency I think that will disappear. Soon it will all be done on debit cards. Dollars, Marks and euros, may just be credits. World wide economy. No currency exchange
