Could extreme stress make one's hair fall out?

My hair is thinning.

I have three important assignments to do for school; I haven't touched my books since LAST november. Each time I think about the work, I get a panic attack. This work that has piled up is rather debilitating on my livelihood. I want to finish it, but I just can't because I'm too scared. The content isn't even difficult, it's just that, well, I don't know how to describe it. I guess I've become nervous and apathetic.

So, knowing this, could my hair fall out as a result of this?

  1. Yes. That happened to me a couple years ago. I was really stressed out and i left hair everywhere i went. I got blood work done and there was no other reason for it than stress. I started using fortifying shampoo to make it stronger and it did help. But if you're losing a lot of hair you should get checked out by a doctor anyway. It could be more serious like a thyroid problem or something, just to use an example.

Just try to relax a little bit each day if it is the stress thing though.

Hope this helped! Good Luck with your assignments.

  3. Yeah. Hair loss is caused by many reasons such as illness, tension and other health problems. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/  for more info.

  4. i think so. I have noticed that when i seam stressed my hair falls out easily. I know the feeling of not wanting to face your situation. Your anxiety just gets way out of hand. I guess you just need to tell yourself that you can do only what you can and try your best. What is it that you are so afraid of?

  5. Pregnancy is more likely, and should come back if not hereditary.
