I have an indoor cat who hasnt had fleas for like a year now. well 2day I found a flea on my baby's changing table! and I know as with all insects where one flea is there are many more! I am now concerned over any diseases they may spread. I am esp. concerned bc my cat has had worms b4 from the fleas I was told, and though the vet said they cant spread from animals to humans, I am still worried. any ideas? I mean, when i was a newborn, my parents had an indoor dog who had fleas and I turned out okay but I am still worried esp. bc my cat has had worms b4 and also bc cats carry toxoplasmosis dogs don't although my cat has never been outdoors.

  1. Just contact someone to spray your house for the fleas and take the baby away for the day. Vacuum all of your carpets and wash the babies bedding. Have the cat treated for the fleas at the same time. If you worry about it it will drive you completely nuts. Keep an eye on the baby for bites, lots of flea bites can make the baby sick and run a fever, but if you take care of it quickly before the fleas turn into an infestation you and your little one will be ok.

I went through this myself when my son was a month old. Took care of the problem

  2. Treat your cat with Frontline plus.  By the way..if your cat has never been outdoors..the odds that it carries toxoplasmosis is VERY low.
