  1. Well RPM means revolutions per second. This means little on jet skies as all of them I know of have no gears to shift. A jetski is almost maintenance free meaning you dont need to know much other than how to drive it properly. I have a skiboat and on my lake jetskies are frowned upon, so just be respectful when riding and read up on water saftey rules.

  2. Ditto...except RPM is revolutions per minute!   Some engines rev higher than others.  It can be an indication of performance but it isn't neccessarily--some engines to better at different speeds than others.

  3. You should read one  of my answers to a question before about the term, "Jet-Ski".  RPM-Revolutions Per Minute-how many times the motor cranks, easiest way to say it.  No, they have no transmission, nor do outboard engines, so they always rev up higher, which is also why they do not last long.  The older watercrafts are based off AC CDI systems, and some DC CDI's.  They also have new 4 strokes that are all fancied up with sensors and what not.  It's best if you just learned slowly one thing at a time about watercrafts.  2-stroke vs. 4-stroke, etc. etc.
