Could i be royalty?

Question

since black ppl were slaves and taken not only from west african but also east africa....and scattered all over couldnt that mean that some of us are royalty and dont know? like egyptian descendants, ghanian empire descendants, ethiopian descendants just asking....i mean we have no way of knowing h**l my egyptian, west african ancestors could have been royalty and i dont know. kinda ****** up. an example would be since my last name is turner....nat turner's mom was sent to the west indies (im west indian), she was a sudanese princess could we be related? is that possible? is this a retarded question? perhaps but im curious.

That question's not retarded - not in the least :)

...the possibility could, very well, be there.  But it might take a LOT of work (genealogy) to find out for sure whether or not you're decendant from royalty - especially if you want (or need) to go back several hundred years.  Records (birth, death, marriage records, ect, that is) can be hard to come by : /

  But again - I can see how the possibility could defininetly be there.  And if you want to find out for sure, I'm sure there's a fair chance that you could.   : )

well i think that everyone is related to someone famous/royal/really rich somewhere along the line. My ancestry can be traced back to william the conqueror. Which is wierd considering the fact that my family doesnt have a lot of money now. So I dont think youre question is retarded at all.

Without tracing your ancestry, there is no way of knowing. Perhaps you should see what you can find out, and write a book like Alex Haley's "Roots", which details how he traced his family back to Africa.
