I have been picked to be in the RSC's [royal shakespeare company] youth ensemble this summer [1 week and 4 days! :D] in Stratford, i'm one of about 22 in the country doing it. I got picked through school for the ensemble. At the end of the two weeks we're performing a midsummer nights dream and i was wondering if we could be talent scouted at the peformance, anybody??

  1. Why don't you ask someone at RSC? Do they invite directors/agents to those kinds of things? If they don't, then maybe you can be proactive and do it yourself. Have postcards made up with your picture and name on them, saying who you're going to be playing and the dates/times. If the show free? If it's not, you will have to purchase the ticket for the director/whoever, they will not pay to come see you.

Doing this kind of stuff is fairly common. Self-marketing is one of the aspiring actors greatest tools. The sooner you learn how to do if effectively, the better. There's a book by Bonnie GIllespie called "Self Marketing for Actors" that's very informational. Check it out.

Good luck with your program! RSC should be a great experience and defintely a great addition to your resume!
