Could i buy my iphone 3G in USA and use it in Singapore?

Can I buy my iphone in USA and use it in Singapore? how much could it cost me? is it USD 199 for 8G and USD 299 for 16G? because if i buy in Singapore, i must sign a 2 years contract with singtel and cant use it with another country prepaid card.

Yes, you can... it wouldn't be very wise.

You will have to sign a 2 year US AT&T contract to purchase in the US.  Using your US purchased 3G will incur international rates in Singapore at about $2US per minute.

sorry but you will have to sign a 2 year contract once you purchase the phone in the US before walking out the door. If you dont have a SSN then you will be required to pay a deposit of at least $500 before starting service! The phone is also locked to the ATT network. If you start service for the phone for $199/$299 you will have an additional $175 early termination fee that must be paid. And you can still only use the phone with ATT!!!!!

Your best to get a phone in Singapore to use there

you can't walk out of the AT&T or Apple store without signing up for service as well.  They aren't just selling the phone...../
