I've received my provisional (uk) driving license and im seeking a fast pass as work requires me to travel and im not a big fan of the glory of public transport. Is it possible to pass my test after just 3 months of tuition, and if so, how would i do it? Would i need to take ridiculous amount of lessons each week?

Thanks,

L

  1. You can take high-intensity courses where you take a few days of work - but there's no guarentee of a pass...

  2. i think if its the same as it was for me even though it was 20 years ago, i put in for my test myself when i first recieved my provisional, i was 16, and i booked my test for 6 days after my 17th b/day, but now you have to do a theory test, so i'm not sure. but good on you to have the drive to suceed, this country would be a better place if all the kids were like you !

  3. it all depends on ur driving wether you can pass within 3 months. your driving instructor should be able to tell you if ur ready or not. you can have as many lessons a week on average most people i know have 2 and i use to, but if you want to pass within 3 months then maybe more lessons a week will be better.

    good luck

  4. depends how quickly you pick it up.

have you had any driving experience?

  5. It completely depends on your natural aptitude for driving.  One of my friend passed after only a month, that was four lessons and I was told to put in for my test on my first lesson, the instructor said by the time I got a date, I would be ready.  Some people spend thousands and spend years learning, book a lesson and see what the instructor says.  I would be tempted to spend the money on a reputable school, either BSM, Red or AA or otherwise ask your friends and people you know who have recently learnt and get someone to recommend an instructor.  If you cut corners and pay someone on the cheap, you will probably pay more in the long run.  If your instructor seems keener on booking you a load of lessons and says you will not be ready for ages, I would be skeptical about his committment to your learning rather than his commitment to his bank balance.

In my day it was a case of get provisional, get lessons, take test, but these days I think you have to have all sorts of theory tests and such, I do not know if you need to do that first, or if you have already done that in order to obtain your provisional, but this should be taken into consideration when thinking about lessons.  Good luck, I am sure you will do well.

  6. you can pass a test in a week if you can drive ! why not get a week course with the test at the end and do it that way instead of hours and hours of driving lessons. question is though can you drive and would you be safe enough as a new driver to do this???

  7. I am doing the same thing and i have learned everything in two months and i am going to take it. so i hope to pass, it doesn't matter how many months, just as long as you can do it.

  8. Yes, why not. You may have to take lessons more frequently. The problem is the waiting list for examinees. This varies per region. Ask your driving instructor to send off the application form asap. You can take lessons, say, in London and drive off in, say, Glasgow if the waiting list there is not that extensive. Phone the DVLA for info.

  9. some driving schools do a pass in a week course, you would be best phoning around local driving schools.

  10. u can get crash courses so u have intense 1 week of learning then take ure test - sucess rates r quite high too xx

http://www.learning2drive.co.uk/   this one is based in swindon but google crash driving course and ure area and im sure what u r looking for will pop up :) gl x

  11. Yeahh its pretty possible.

My di said it takes about 25 lessons plus practice to pass on average.

I think somewhere you can do a 2 week course lol, then take your test at the end of it.

It just depends how quickly you learn x

  12. I began lessons on a monday drove pretty much all day to thursday then had my test on the friday and passed!

it was a weeks crash course as was in the army, you can defo get it in 3 months just get lots of lessons in and book your test straight away.

  13. it all depends on how fast you learn, i know people who have done it in a days intensive course and others who are on 40+ lessons.

it might be a good idea to price up one of those weeks intensive courses, it seems to be the best idea for a quick pass, but its still not garunteed
