  1. thinning and dilating of the cervix is a good sign that mabye labor will be soon, but not always a good indication.

i've been walking around at 2cm for 3 weeks now!

  2. It's hard to say.  But, if this is your first child, most likely you will deliver PAST your due date, unless you are being induced.  You should being getting Non-Stress Tests (NST's), which will track your contractions.  If they begin to get regular, and do not decrease in intensity if you move around, you may be in labor!  Good luck!

  3. I was 2 cm dilated for nearly 3 weeks before I delivered!  Your just getting ready.

  4. You wont go untill around your due date. You can stay at 2cm for up to a month if not longer.

  5. Some women walk around dilated for weeks before giving birth.. I started having contractions around 36 weeks as well and here i am at 38 weeks and still with child!! Until your contractions are coming consistent and get to were they hurt its all fine. Your body is just getting ready for the big day.

  6. Unfortunately, its hard to say.  Could be tomorrow, could be a week past your due date.  I was 2-3 cm and 75% thinned out for 4 weeks with my 2nd baby and eventually had to be induced on my due date.  But with my 3rd, I was maybe 1cm and not thinned out at my 37 wk check, and then went in to labor that night.  Crazy.  Good luck!!!!

  7. I was the same at my 38 week visit and he did something called "stripping the membranes" to hurry up the labor... 2 days later my water broke and she was my first child. When you have contractions and I mean "real" contractions not just braxton hicks and you have them regularly you will be in labor no questions I bet in the next week to 2 weeks you will have the baby congrats.
