Could i have dry eyes?

Ive been recently entirely unsuccessful in putting my contact lenses onto my eye. I foolishly have been prone to sleeping in my contact lenses too much and have on more than one occasion accidentally rubbed my eyes. Now i have been hearing that rubbing the eyes and sleeping in your contacts can cause dry eyes and i cant help but laugh at how dumb I've been. Ive recently spent over $200 on new contacts and only have gotten to wear one pair since getting them. Im now considering Lasek surgery but have head that it has bad side effects and it cant be done with people who have dry eyes.

  1. Yep. The dry eye thing is a serious issue and can cause or worsen dry eye. If you have dammaged your corneas with over wear of your contacts you might not be able to have lasik either. Keep your lenses out for a few days and try again. Wear them only for the prescribed time frames. Make sure you clean them and take care of your eyes. The Surgery is not for everyone. Dr. Robert Maloney wrote a best selling book and it is available online to read free. go to maloneyvision.com    it will tell you what to ask, what to look for in a lazer doctor, answer common questions. He is one of the top surgeons in the US and does the "extreme makeover" lasik. I do not work for Dr. Maloney, but I have met him twice. He is a great surgeon and is full of great information and they can even refer you to a great doctor in your area.
