Could i mix whey protein with milk before bed for slow release?

  1. Yes, but the whey takes about 2-3 hours to digest, whereas the calcium caseinate in milk takes about 6 hours to digest, so that's a pretty good supply. It would not last until you get up, but is bvetter than nothing at all. Add in some slow digesting carbs (like a slice or two of wholemeal toast) to get more benefits.


  2. You could, but milk is hard to digest and may interfere with sleep.

    If this is for muscle gain, I have found that supplements are not that neccessary. A consistent good diet works better and I think that the amount of protein the mags and supplement manufacturers recommend may be a little on the high side.

    That said, I heard recently that your digestive system works just the same when you are asleep. - Hope this helps
