That will be fine if you don't get too many girlfriends.  Your money will go farther if you live in provincial area.  At least away from Manila.  Don't try to start a business, loan money out, buy land, adopt orphans, etc.  If you can't say no to people then $12,000 won't be enough.  Good luck.

The way the Price of Grocerys and Gas is going up You will find it hard to Live in Manila for 1200$ You will have to go in to the Province to have a good Lifestyle.I live on abouth 50000 Pesos a Month. This includes 1 Full Time Employed Care Taker,Van,Water, Power Food and plenty of Drinks.

of course man! if you're going to retire you should live in the BIG city (MANILA) or if you want pure paradise then go to BORACAY.

Without a doubt. That is roughly 40,000 pesos. I'm not sure how old you are but the value of the dollar will go up soon too. I hope to semi-retire there in about ten years myself. I'm only 28, I just don't to stay in the states and work my but off for the next 40 years. But, yeah, with 40,000 pesos a month, you will live just fine. You can get a maid for about 40 or 50 bucks a month.

You certainly could.  It won't be the lifestyle of the rich and famous, but you can live better on it there than in most places.

Take the advice about not having too many girlfriends, and what ever you do DO NOT open a business,adopt children, loan out money, buy property, etc.  That is very sound advice.
