Could i use subwoofers as asd a normal speaker for my back shelf?

hi all i need help i no nothing bout this

i got a fiesta st n i wanna no if i could put sub woofers on my back shelf and just wire them up normaly are can you only have them in the box

  1. yes, there are subs that are build to work that way, in that case the trunk will be the enclosure. try Pioneer.


  2. no, coz they will sound cr@p as the frequency response of a sub is very limited

  3. You can't just let them sit there. They need the air in the front of the speaker to be seperated from the back. You can get some subs that are good for free air. Those can be mounted in the deck and use the trunk as the enclosure.

  4. your text talk is ****, but forgiving that... a sub can be put anywhere but must have some sort of enclosure to produce'bass' a sub can be enclosed in a boot-shelf mount but in order to do this they will have to be a big sub and amped up to the max ,you must ensure the boot is sound proved and no air escapes to ensure any good low frequencies. just buy a ported sub and cut out the the mistakes is my advice.
